This is supposed to be a clear (transparent) shelf film, but it is not quite completely so when it is applied. It sticks down nicely and is somewhat removable for awhile as one positions the stuff. It seems to be durable, but time will tell. I must say, I didn't buy this laminate to use on shelves.
I have used a couple little patches of it to protect the areas on my laptop computer where my hands rest while keyboarding. I did this in order to protect the surfaces. The clear shelf liner works pretty well for that, but I don't think it would make a good screen protector for digital cameras or cell phones. I am tempted to try that. Heck, I might even try it on a shelf someday.
